What kind of maintenance can I do to a corrupt file?

What kind of maintenance can I do to a corrupt file?

What kind of maintenance can I do to a corrupt file?

(OP)
I am trying to delete an "Embedded" not "Linked" Word document which was "Pasted Special" into a dgn. file.  I cannot delete it or verify any properties.  I am able to change it to an unused level and turn that level off.

RE: What kind of maintenance can I do to a corrupt file?

Have you tried to do a "FILEFENCE"?
Place a fence around all the items you wish to keep.
Shut off all the "UNDESIED" levels.
Then click on the "Key-In" and type ...

ff=c:\temp\mynewfile.dgn

hit the "Enter" key
And LEFT click anywhere on SCREEN to accept what's inside the fence.

NOTE:
MAKE SURE WHEN YOU PLACED THE FENCE ... THAT IT WAS SET TO INSIDE ... AND NOT VOID!

Now open the new file and see if that cleaned out the WORD document.

Hope that helps!
Rich.

RE: What kind of maintenance can I do to a corrupt file?

Place a fence around complete file.Keyin aa=360. rotate fence. this will rewrite entire file.
or Use (sub folder under microstation programs)
Edg
open 'filename.dgn'
Set search /all
repair all (use edg help to see the syntax to use for repair.)
you can also set the display on
Set display /full
EOF (end of file)
this will let you watch the repaired elements
Make sure to close the file.
