PAM Winding Connections.

PAM Winding Connections.

PAM Winding Connections.

(OP)
Dear Fellow Members/Readers,
I'm looking for suitable websites or literature that could provide details of PAM Winding connections (two speeds, one winding) for medium and large Three Phase Electric Motors.

If there is anyone connected with PAM Windings in Three Phase Electric Motors who has knowledge of where this information will be available, your help will be most appreciated.

Many thanks,
r2d2.

RE: PAM Winding Connections.

r2d2:- if you send fax no, kw, speeds, type of load(fan ,pump)  you require plus the number of stator slots, we will check our records and if we have what you want.will send connection dia.

Thankyou "jbartos" and "teco" for your suggestions and assistance. Unfortunately there is more than one motor involved.

As a service center, I receive occasional requests for conversions from existing (standard) single speed motors to two speed. Depending on the request, I convert windings to the pole change type where convenient. Alternatively, I provide two separate windings for the respective speeds, providing stator and rotor slots permit (the change).

The PAM winding configuration would help avoid two separate windings as only one winding is used. I do not have a problem with designing the required turns and wire sizes to suit respective KW outputs. The problem I have is establishing the COIL PITCH, NO: of GROUPS, NO: of COILS per GROUP and the CONNECTION SEQUENCE for the PAM connection to suit various stators and the number of slots they contain.

Any further help or suggestions are welcome.

Thanks once again.

RE: PAM Winding Connections.

It looks to me that each and every motor will have to be analyzed (almost redesigned or recalculated) for the PAM connection/rewinding/modification. There will always be some limitations involved no matter what.

RE: PAM Winding Connections.

r2d2:-
being a service center and are activly involved with electic motor repair you are able to join an organisation called e.a.s.a.
they have for sale a re design programme on disk this covers p.a.m. type windings along with connection diags.
note:- p.a.m. type windings are complex and basic 3 phase connectins do not apply.
good luck and regds

RE: PAM Winding Connections.

CAN ANYONE GIVE ME THE ADDRESS OF e.a.s.a. as i would like to purchase the programme they have on the disk.

RE: PAM Winding Connections.

kuldip:-
e.a.s.a can be found at www.easa.com.
