FM 200 Need help with budget $ info

(OP)
I'm just the mech estimator. But I favor the air side.
I know the basics of what FM 200 and some other "clean agent" extinguishing compounds are but only interested in the cost of retrofit projects.
I looked back at previous posts and found a $65/lb for the agent,(?) but how do you come up with the amount needed?
I have little info.
Very preliminary stage of project.
Application is for a telcom room. Has, or had existing halon system.
I'm not engineering the system, that's for others at a later date, I just need to put a $ value on the expected cost.
Any help is moocho appreciado.
Thanks!

RE: FM 200 Need help with budget $ info

FM-200 or FE-227 is Ashrae HFC-227.  The density at 70 F is 2.2075.  So the specific volume is 1/2.2075=0.4530.  The concentration is 7% so 0.4530*.07=0.0317.  Then for 1000 cu ft you will need 31.7 pounds of FM-200.  The exact number is .034 pounds per cu ft or protected room. See NFPA 2000 for the exact calculation.

www.apsfire.com/suppsystcalcu.htm this direction has a quit calculation table.

You must know it is only for estimating purposes.

Thank you for the info.
It was just what I needed.
I have learned a bit more than I expected.
Also about NOVEC 1230 which may replace some FM200 applications.
All of it usefull for the next project.
Thanks again!
