The Speed of EPP?

The Speed of EPP?

The Speed of EPP?

(OP)
I have ever measured the speed of EPP. The condition of measure is:
OS: Mandrake 8.2
CPU: celeron 677M
RAM: 256M
I loaded my epp.o kernel module which could output some square wave to Epp responding to the external interrupt pluse. I watched the output wave and the trigger pulse which frequency can be adjusted simultaneously. I continued to increase the trigger frequency untile the output wave was stable. So the frequency of output is the interrupt speed of the EPP. I found it is some above 1K Hz. I also programed an application which include a while(1) loop in main function to output 0x00 and 0xff to Epp alternatively. I viewed the output wave and knew the speed of writing EPP. It is about 300K Hz. I was puzzled because it is said "EPP has a typical transfer rate in the order of 500KB/S to 2MB/S." in some EPP paper. The speed I measured is far slower than 2MB/S. Which is correct? me or EPP paper? Thanks for your reponse in advance!
