NOVA bus driveline system

There's a donut/flywheel shaped component between the drive shaft yoke and the differential carrier.  I believe it's called a damper.  I do not know details on how this component works.  If anyone has information on such a component, please let me know.  I'm also interested in knowing a manufacturer that makes such a device.  The part number of the damper that's currently on the NOVA bus is STAHL TRANSDAMPER TD-641007

Thank you so much

Correction.  The component is between the yoke and a transfer gear box that connects to a diesel engine on the other end.

RE: NOVA bus driveline system

It could be doing any number of things, but it is probably either a torsional harmonic damper or a torsionally compliant coupling.

People who make or sell these would include Freudenberg, Coopers, Dana or GKN depending on where you are in the world. Talk to your local driveshaft/UJ manufacturer

Cheers

Thank you for the info.  I will look into that.
