Generator Electrical Parameters

Generator Electrical Parameters

Generator Electrical Parameters

(OP)
Hello Forum,

I am interested to understand what effect the variation in electrical parameters of a generator has on its construction, size and relative cost.

For example, if I have to select a generator with a high sub-transient reactance, how different in size is this machine compared to one with a smaller sub-transient reactance.

Any links to on-line guides would be appreciated.

Thanks

RE: Generator Electrical Parameters

I don't know of any link but what you are looking for i.e. the relitive difference in size is zero. Most if not all of what you are looking for may be found in;
AC Machinery Puckstein and Loyd
Westinghouse T&D book
The actual size of the machine does not change, just clearances (e.g. air gap), shape of poles, sailent or non-salient poles, etc.
