Setting initial void's ratio in Abaqus 6.3

Setting initial void's ratio in Abaqus 6.3

(OP)
Hi,
I am working on modeling water flow in arterial tissue.  We have inp files from before Abaqus CAE we have been using but now we would like to expand on the meshes and use CAE.  The problem we have is CAE is not letting us create initial conditions for the void's ratio of the nodes.  I've looked in the load module but all it allows us to assign is pore pressures.  Whenever we try to run the inp file we get an error saying void's ratio must be defined, use *Initial Conditions.

Does anyone have any hints?  We are on a academic site license so we can't expect help from Abaqus.com.

Thanks,

Paul

RE: Setting initial void's ratio in Abaqus 6.3

If you're unable to find the initial conditions for your particular case (in the load module under field conditions) then you'll have to use Model/Edit Keywords and manually add the appropriate line to the inp file.
