Ball Valve Sizings

Ball Valve Sizings

Ball Valve Sizings

(OP)
Hello,

someone can show me the way I can define the bore size for 6" Ball valve, knowning that it's made in compliance with API 4D, class 600. I've checked this APi (have only one for 1996) and did not find any relationship between nominal size of valve and its internal dimensions.

thanks

RE: Ball Valve Sizings

I guess the best way is to contact the Valve vendor/manufacturer.

RE: Ball Valve Sizings

u may contact fox valves company or johnvalves, a good supplier list can be found in www.chemicalonlines.com

RE: Ball Valve Sizings

You can specified the internal diameter of the ball valve eg full bore (FB)to 8" Schedule 160 Nominal Pipe Size.  This especially required for pipeline valve for a pig to run through.

If you dont, the manufacture's internal bore could be significantly smaller, causing the pig to get stuck.
