Test Masters Structural Review Course

Test Masters Structural Review Course

(OP)
I am taking the Structural I PE exam and would appreciate the advice of any PE's that may have taken it prior to their PE exam.  Is it worth it?   4 days of review for $595 with no guarantee of passing.

RE: Test Masters Structural Review Course

Well, to be honest, I would have to wonder about any review program that offered to guarantee that an applicant would pass a professional exam! Most of them give reduced costs for repeat victims. I did not use the program you mentioned, but the one in California run by ..perhaps I had better not name names. Some of the lecturers they had were very good, some were very poor, some of them read from the books that were provided as a part of the 6 or 700 dollar cost of the review program. The books themselves were not updated to curent code, and therefore for the california exam often almost useless. The theory was that if you undersood the method, the outdated code references did not matter but that was not true. Most of the exam in california is code based and if you are not familiar with the current code you are dead meat. I tabbed my code and relevant manuals. I did solve the problems in the books, but if I had to do it over again I am not sure I would waste the money or the Saturdays for the lecture part of the review course.
