Read RS232 signal using VBA commands

Read RS232 signal using VBA commands

Hello all, I am trying to read data coming to my computer through RS232 protocol to my 9 pin serial port from a volt meter. I have a program called Winwedge that can read the signal but I can't see a way to control that input from VBA. The signal is being sent a few times a second at 2400 baud. Any ideas?

Thank You.

RE: Read RS232 signal using VBA commands

Don't understand.  Doesn't Winwedge support DDE?  According to its documentation, the DDE interface is supposed to allow you to control Winwedge from other applications.

Oops, you are correct, I don't even have a good excuse for not knowing that, except I'm stupid. I have used WinWedge for so long in the "Send Strokes To.." mode for so long I didn't remember the DDE option. They even have good examples on the WinWedge website.

Thanks for the kick in the pants.
