VPM & ENOVIA "The difference" or same

(OP)
I need some more clarification on VPM & ENOVIA. I know VPM replaces CDM with some new tools and features, But what is the ENOVIA part? I also have been hearing aout ENOVIA LCA. Is there any pdf's on both or any good informational links. Any help would be great.

RE: VPM & ENOVIA "The difference" or same

There is a lot of different ENOVIA products. One of them is ENOVIA VPM which works with both V4 and V5 (from release 1.5). Another product is ENOVIA LCA which works with V5. Both is PDM systems.

Try www.enovia.com for mor information

RE: VPM & ENOVIA "The difference" or same

Enovia is the name of the company that IBM created to develop and distribute PM, renamed PDM,
and other associated products such as CDM, LCA and VPM.

Some early users of PM believe this was done to hide IBM's shame at dumping a beta product,
described and tauted as a complete and viable software package, on the public.

This ended up causing some of their customers to more than double! the cost
of developing new products while working out PM's bugs.

Boy, that sounds soapboxy, even to me...
Guess I must have been one of those early users.
