Elastomeric bearing for a bridge

Elastomeric bearing for a bridge

Elastomeric bearing for a bridge

(OP)
Hi,

I need to know how to calculate the compressive stiffness of an elastomeric bearing to be used for a bridge deck analysis. I wasn't successful finding relevant information on web. Could someone assist me please.

Thanx in advance

RE: Elastomeric bearing for a bridge

dilukshi,

Probably a lot more than you need to know but you can download Base Isolation Design Guidelines from this site:

www.holmesgroup.com/designguide

Section 9.3 has some formulas for compressive stiffnes.

RE: Elastomeric bearing for a bridge

Have you checked in AASHTO.  AASHTO has a very complete section on elastomeric bearings, including properties.
