Guys!!!!
i need to undertake a apprasil or suggest options for LV distribution within a hospital.
i need to provide the Trust with a list of advantages and dis advantages basically for different types of options.
My intentions or options will be catorigised as follows..
Types of Trannies (Midel or syntenic, dry type_
Busbar rises against LV SWA sub mains
Asco switches against Contactors
i do have some thoughts.. bu would apprecaite any input or helpful comments,previous threads, web sites
i look forward to any comments

The fact that you mention hospital and trust leads me to believe this is a UK hospital. If this is the case then all electrical works have to comply (in addition to the usual regs)with Health Technical Memorandum(HTM) documents. These cover HV, LV, Emergency electrical services,Med gases etc, etc,etc. There is an enormous amount of info to be gained here. Contact NHS Estates for more info.
NHS hospital LV systems can become very complex within an Acute unit to ensure that power can be switched across the site from any supply in the event of an emergency. Many critical areas will be fed by 2 or 3 different supplies to ensure a standby is always available or can be backfed somewhere else. If you mention trannies what about the HV supplies. Do you have single or dual feeds, radial or ring, open points??
