creating brick elements between two existing layers.

(OP)
I currently have two sets of elements representing half models of vertbra and discs.

One set of nodes/elements were created as txt files which were then imported. The other set is then an off set copy of these.

I left some space between the copies as the nodes do not line up, and intended to create a layer of 8 node brick elements to connect these.

However I am experiencing some difficulties, due to the abstract sahpe of the model the two ends and nodes do not quite match one another.

As I created the nodes elements  from txt files I currently have no keypoints, lines, areas or volumes and I fear the creation of the later of these could be V.time consuming due to relatively large number of nodes.

Is there a quick and easy way in which elements can be created between the layers without creating new element txt files. The version I am using is ANSYS 6.1. Any suggestions are welcome as I can then try any number of these.

Failing this are there any other suggestions regarding how to "join" the two sets of elements/nodes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as this is a large part of my final year project and time is running out.

THANKS
S Tattersall
