Teaching Hermetic Compressors to Young Students

(OP)
Years ago we had a machine in South America that was made in the United States that enabled us to cut open a hermetically sealed compressor and then to re-weld it . It looked like a small hand operated sand-blasting machine for cleaning parts.
These compressors were used for training in an HVAC school. Does anyone know if these machines are still manufactured and by whom?

Thanks,
Joe
