Reference for flange gasket and bolting?

Reference for flange gasket and bolting?

Reference for flange gasket and bolting?

(OP)
Guys there is a reference text out there dealing strictly with flange bolting, flange gaskets, bolt torque, etc.  It is a recent publication, like within the last couple years.  The format is a small paperback, probably 150 pages or so.  Do any of you know the title?  I have Googled on this for an hour and I give up.  Pete

Thanks!
Pete

RE: Reference for flange gasket and bolting?

"Pocket Guide to Flanges, Fittings, and Piping Data" by R.R. Lee, Gulf Publishing, 1984 (3rd printing 1989).  I've had one for years, and it sounds like what you're looking for (although it's not that recent).  I think I got it through McGraw Hill ChE book club.  It doesn't list bolt torques, but doesn't that depend on the bolt grade & size?

Gulf also published "The Piper's Pocket Handbook", but I've never seen it in print.

Thanks but that's not it.  The book I'm thinking of was written by a non-American, I think either European or SOuth American.  It is published by one of the gasket makers, I think...  Pete

Thanks!
Pete

The book you're looking for is "Industrial Gaskets" by Jose Viega.  Mr. Veiga works for Teadit (a Brazilian gasket manufacturer).  You can probably get a copy of this book through their website.

That's it exactly!!!  Thanks dude!  The funny thing is that I thought the author's name started with a 'V' but that's all I could remember.

Thanks!
Pete
