AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

(OP)
Can someone tell me how I can adjust line weight on text and dimension text? The 'ddim' modify box does not have a field for adjusting this. I'd like to retain the text style I'm using, but it has too heavy of a line weight.

Hi Zekezacknel,

change the wight in the *.ctb before you plot...

RE: AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

try options->users'preference folder->lineweight setting;
also try format ->text style and check out default setting; Do the same in dim style under format. Also have text in one layer and assigned lineweight.  You will probably not see any change on screen but when plotted text will have changed. All above assumed done in MS.

RE: AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

remember that in AutoCAD ... it matters what color you are using. If the text for your dims is RED ... AND the CTB file attached (when plotting) says RED is HEAVY then your text will come out HEAVY.

EXIT is right!
Check your CTB file attached to see what color is WHAT "weight" ...

Check the current color for the text ...
Check the attributes ... in terms of weight number ...
Then find a color that has a LOWER number ...
That should help to eliviate your "Too Heavy Weight Text Issue"

Later ...

RE: AutoCAD 2002 Text Line Weight

The way I setup AutoCAD is to use no pen tables and plot lineweights by layer. Just be sure that the dimensions & text are on layers that have the lineweight set to what works best in your situation(I use 0.006" for all text & dimensions) and then you are free to use what ever color you want without any conflict with output quality.

Take care & have fun!
