where does autocad save the drawing file
where does autocad save the drawing file
(OP)
where does autocad save the drawing file, that opens when you fire up autocad. I want to save it with all of my linetypes etc. So when i fire up autocad it has every thing inserted already to start work.
In r14 it was the acad.dwg file.
I have tryed a cople of different files but none of them work.
cheers,

RE: where does autocad save the drawing file
the first drawing wich you open is a *.dwt file in the folder TEMPLATE. You have to save Your "fire up drawing" as start.dwt...
After that you have to change the start-path: Right mouse-click on the AC.LT icon on desktop -> links -> change the ?.dwt file to start.dwt
I hope it helps,

Just rename your ACAD.DWG to ACAD.DWT and place it in the SUPPORT directory. That should do it ... IF you want what you described for AutoCAD r14 ...
Later ...
