Welding Fume Hood Calculations

I hope I have the correct area.
Can anyone help me with calculating the SCFM for a welding fume hood.
I need to calculate the size of piping for the top of the hood and any other information that will be required.
Thank you

Wraith

Check this link. http://www.roofunitsltd.co.uk/sharing/system.pdf

You have a table which shows the required air changes per hour and the typical velocities to be maintained at various duct systems. The upper values given in the range are fairly redundant and you should use your experience (lower values of the range are good).

You should better post this, also at HVAC/R Engineering Forum.

RE: Welding Fume Hood Calculations

Check out any industrial hygiene book, OSHA 1910 standard and any ventilation book dealinf withaaaeffective designs of ventilating hoods.  You should have no problem because of the prevalence of this information.
