doubt in trailer static analysis

doubt in trailer static analysis

doubt in trailer static analysis

(OP)
Hello,

What should be the boundary conditions for a Trailer chasis? Actually I arrested the movement in the Y direction at rear axle i.e.,at 4 places, when i did this i got a warning message - There are 2 small equation solver pivot terms.check for an insufficient constrained model. Even i also got error message as - DOF(eg displacement) limit exceed at time 1.May be due to an unrestrained or unstable model.

So that i fixed all degrees of freedom at the 4 places.
Load on the trailer is given as 80T should i apply on the surface area of the Trailer? Apply as pressure?

RE: doubt in trailer static analysis

What are your coordinate axes? Assuming you have Y vertical X longitudinal then you also need to prevent the free body motion in X and Z. Apply additional constraints to wheel LHF in X and Z, wheel LHR in Z and wheel RHF in X

Cheers

Greg Locock
