Pin Connection Problems

Pin Connection Problems

Pin Connection Problems

(OP)
I’m having problems making a simple pin connection with Wildfire Mechanism. I’m selecting the axis of a hole in a block (part of a larger assembly) and the axis of a hole in a small bar the axis of rotation and the face of the block and a face of the bar as the translation constraint. Preview shows the bar in the correct position, but the Placement Status window shows “Connection Definition Not Complete” and won’t close. Any ideas as to what I’m doing wrong?  Thanks.

RE: Pin Connection Problems

I haven't used wildfire, but I know that in Pro/E 2001 and earlier mechanism editions pin connection requires a translation reference such as a plane or point to locate pin on axis.

If you select a planar reference normal to axis on part and assembly, it should work.
Otherwise try using Slider Connection.
