Moldflow Material selection

Moldflow Material selection

Moldflow Material selection

(OP)
Hello,

When a material that's gonna be used in molding a plastics
part does not exist in the Moldflow database for material,
what parameters do you use to select the closest material
for flow analysis?

A friend of mine is using the viscosity vs shear rate to determine the closest material to be used.  Is he right?

When going to the supplier website and
looking up the material spec, usually, there is no information regarding viscosity vs shear rate.
example:(Basell)
http://www.basell.com/dataSheetsFrameset/?link=I%3D237%26M%3D2%26P%3D81648%26P_81648_LIST%3D1

We are going to use Hifax CB285, but this material does not exist in moldflow database.  Just for the sake of analysing the flow, what material would you choose to use for the analysis? Why?  How does this affect the flow analysis?
