AES Audio Swapping without using a DSP?

AES Audio Swapping without using a DSP?

AES Audio Swapping without using a DSP?

(OP)
bbayer (Electrical) Mar 13, 2003
I am looking for a device that is capable of swapping AES audio channels within the AES audio pair without using a DSP to do so. Is there such a device? I was toying with the idea of using a Analog Devices D/A converter and it's convert A/D counter part. I was just hoping to keep it within a digital domain. The signal would be sychronous and the serial output device should be reclocking. I'm trying to make a router of sorts. Any suggestions?
Thanks

RE: AES Audio Swapping without using a DSP?

Not clear what you are really trying to do, but if you were to use an AES transceiver (Crystal 8420 etc) this would give you a nice serial output stream with which a bit of logic and a few shift registers could do many things. No DSP needed, but possibly a microcontroller to program the beast.
