Waterhammer Analysis By Hand

Waterhammer Analysis By Hand

Waterhammer Analysis By Hand

(OP)
Hi Eng's!
Can somebody tell me or give me link to an accepted method of doing a waterhammer analysis by hand? The situation is a sewer forcemain of app. 800m lenght between two liftstations - cont. up-slope. Especially I would like to determine the low-pressure curve over the entire pipe! Is that possible by hand? Thanks!

RE: Waterhammer Analysis By Hand

YEs, Before computers there were graphical techniques. The books would be long out of print now.

The book by Parmekian 1965 would have them, I think?

You could get the freeware from the US Army Corps called Whamo. It wouldnt take more time than learning the graphical method.

Try the Bergeron method described here:-
