assembly drawing extra lines-what are they, how do I get rid of them?

assembly drawing extra lines-what are they, how do I get rid of them?

(OP)
I've just made a 3 sheet drawing of an assembly design.  It came in fine with the exception of some "way out lines".  The lines start near the middle of the drawing, and upon zooming way out, they seem to never end.  I've checked all of the configurations on the assy file, and nothing seems to show up like it does on the drawing file.  Has anyone seen this happen, or have an investigative action for me to take?...2003 sp1.o

It sounds like a video card issue.

Hi,

Please check your assembly for interferences. Interferences can cause a bad display in a drawing, this is a known limitation.

If you don't have interferences, try getting a newer video driver. Just in case this is a video issue.

cheers,

Joseph

The only time I have seen this is when I have inserted dimensions using inset model items the problem is small angle dimensions e.g. 0.5° draft angle were the leaders go off of into infinity when updating the drawing after changing the part

We have something like this all the time.  It is especially bad with threads (not cosmetic - but cut with helical sweeps).  Pro-e did this on the same parts when we used it.

However, this helps:
1) Change the plane or angle of view (if iso is used)
2) Go to tools, options, performance, and slide the wireframe quality to the max setting.

I have seen this happen in SolidWorks 2001+ when I imported a Pro/E part.  I sent it to my VAR and they said it was caused by bad geometry i the PRO/E file.
