Piping for lift stations at marina's
Piping for lift stations at marina's
(OP)
Designing for sewage piping to be installed at a marina that will only be used during the warm months of the year by the members of the club. The concern or question that I have is if the piping is located near the steel wall pilings that extend above water level roughly 4' to grade.
How can you avoid the piping from freezing during the winter months and joints loosening or seperating? Should expansion joints be installed? Should the piping be filled with a recreational vehicle anti-freeze? Please let me know I am curious on how this can be affected.

RE: Piping for lift stations at marina's
Regarding freezing of the water inside the pipe...if you can suggest anti-freeze, I would think you can just empty the pipe during the winter. The bigger concern is protecting the pipe from ice in the water outside the pipe.

the pre insulated material is used in district cooling applications.
