Problem Installing SW 2001 + and SW 2003 using Win 98 SE

Problem Installing SW 2001 + and SW 2003 using Win 98 SE

(OP)
I get the following message when trying to install (running the install.exe file) SW 2001 plus:

"The current platform - Windows ME/98/95 (i386)- is not supported by the following SolidWorks 2001plus distribution:

C:/My Documents/SolidWorks 2001 Plus/

Please obtain an appropriate distribution, then retry installing."

I thought SW was Win 98 compatible? How do I fix this problem? Thank you.

RE: Problem Installing SW 2001 + and SW 2003 using Win 98 SE

Update to ME or better, XP or 2000.

RE: Problem Installing SW 2001 + and SW 2003 using Win 98 SE

Only Windows 98SE is supported not just Win98.

You really don't want to run that on that OS do you?

Supported OS for SW03:

Win98 Second Edition - BAD Memory Managers
Win ME - BAD Memory Managers
XP Pro - SP 0 or 1
Win2000 - SP2 or 3
Win NT 4.0 - SP6

See the orange sheet that is sent with your SW CD's for more information.

I hope that helps,
