HV 9    : 19-22 % Cr : 24-26 % Ni : >4 % Mo  : 0.04 % C

RE: PUMP MATERIAL

A good material to use is CD4MCu, a cast duplex stainless steel (UNS J93370).  It's composition is 26%Cr, 5.4%Ni, 2.0%Mo, 0.04%C.  We use it extensively in our mono-ammonium phosphate granulation plant, as well as the phos acid production facility.

I know it's available in Wilfley and Duriron pumps, and it is probably offered by other pump manufacturers as well.

The HA 28.5 you mentioned should be a good material.  The others (654SMO and HV9) have higher Nickel content and will be higher cost without improved performance.

RE: PUMP MATERIAL

ASTM A890 lists several 25% chrome duplex stainless steel available as cast pump bodies.  Flowserve, Union, Goulds, & sulzer also offer duplex sst pumps.
