Starting I-DEAS

Starting I-DEAS

Starting I-DEAS

(OP)
All of a sudden I have problems of starting I-DEAS (MS-8). When I click the icon on my desktop or start it from programs, I just get the dos window who tells me where I-DEAS is looking for the license file, and thats it. No more action. The license server is up and running, and I can connect to it. I have tried to reinstall I-DEAS, but to no use. The other PC's in the network can run I-DEAS Ok

I am hesitant to use the last option of cleaning my disk, and install windows again (MS W2000)

Has anyone seen this before? Any hints are welcome.

Bernt

RE: Starting I-DEAS

Well, I have seen this before.

The method which solved this was to uninstall the I-DEAS.
Restart the OS.
Then reinstall the I-DEAS.

Another problem I saw was during an upgrade to a newer release.

After the upgrade, the printing somehow went bonkers.

But for this, I substituted the old SDI folder with the one from another workstation and it worked.

So for this server problem, check if you can ping the server. If you cannot, check network connection. If you can, I would suggest you to perform the method mentioned earlier. Cheers.
