I need advice in finding a lost wax mold maker I am trying to market a product and trying to find a mold maker that wont take me to the cleaners I have never had a mold made befor so I dont know how much to spend on one or where to start. I spoke to a man in CA that will pour the steel for me. Any advice would be most appreciated

Howmet in Whitehall, MI makes high strength parts by the lost wax process. The fine patterns are not wax but plastic, which melts out during the furnace melt out process. My recollection is that the plastic patterns were nylon.
Howmet is an aerospace supplier, but they may lead you to others who are not competing with them.

I would call on Carl Cranke at Dependable Pattern Works in Portland, OR.  These guys have been at it a long time and have some solutions for lower cost prototype tooling if that fits the need.  Here’s the contact info…
