AISC T value for W shapes?

AISC T value for W shapes?

AISC T value for W shapes?

(OP)
I just noticed that the value of T (depth of beam less the flange thicknesses less the k values) in the Second Edition LRFD Manual is significantly different from the T values given in the new 3rd Edition.

Does anyone know why these changed?  They are quite significant.

Thanks Taro....for a minute I thought I was going crazy.  Checking an example problem from the second edition, while using shapes from the third edition I found that a W14x99 T distance changed from 11 1/4" to 10" ....quite a large jump based on a survey.
