Solidworks Installation Help

Solidworks Installation Help

Solidworks Installation Help

(OP)
I am trying to install solidworks, but everytime I install it the dwaring template or drawing file is not recognized, and that is a very important thing that i need. Is there something that i might be doing wrong in my installation.

RE: Solidworks Installation Help

Well lets start with the basics....

first, what version of Solidworks?

Is this a new installation?

If not, have you uninstalled the former version prior to your installation?

If so, then did you clean the system registry?

If so then did you go and get rid of the solidworks directories on the c:/ drive as well?

Also, can you elaborate on the "drawing file is not recognized" statement you made?  What does Solidworks tell you when you try to create a new drawing?  Or are you trying to open someone elses?

PLease fill me in, I can help you

I actually did see the faq, and nothing had worked, so i went into registry and delted everything I could find with the solidworks name on it, and it worked this time.

I was installing 2001 Plus and, what had happened was when creating a new document the drawign template never showed up, and it was not in the data directory either.

Thanks a lot for the help guys, appreciate it
