Where to get software

Where to get software

(OP)
Is there a place where software can be uploaded and downloaded? The way it works is if someone has written his own software or has some unique information (charts, procedures, equations, etc.), it can be uploaded to a file library. Anyone looking for something along that line can download it for his own use. The usual restrictions are that the software is owned by the person who wrote it but it is being distributed to anyone who wants it for free. Pirating software and charging money are forbidden.

This is very common on some of the flight simulator websites but I have not seen it for engineering or automotive software. I have several of my own programs that I don't mind sharing.
