Helical Probe Test (HPT)

Helical Probe Test (HPT)

(OP)
I am searching for information on the HPT test.  Some 3rd party engineers in my area of the SE use this test instead of DCP or SPT to determine soil bearing.  I am looking for information on validity and experimental/empirical correlations on the equipment and sources.

RE: Helical Probe Test (HPT)

The following paper should help you out.  I have not read this particular paper, but I just happen to run across it.  I hope it helps.

Yokel, F.Y. and Mayne, P.W. (1988)  Helical Probe Tests: Initial Test Calibration,  ASTM Geotechnical Testing Journal, Vol.  11 (3), 179-186.
