PHOENICS or PORFLOW for Porous CFD??

PHOENICS or PORFLOW for Porous CFD??

PHOENICS or PORFLOW for Porous CFD??

(OP)
I'm considering PHOENICS and PORFLOW CFD packages to model flow of gases and liquids through porous media, such as soils.  They both seem good - PORFLOW is more specific to my current need, and PHOENICS las lots of additional capabilities that I might be able to use on other projects.  Any recommendations or good/bad experience with either? How hard would it be to get up and running compared to other software?
Thanks
Randall
