Launder in clarifier

Launder in clarifier

(OP)
I had a question regarding launder.... I am not quite sure what it is? All I know is that the effluent falls into the launder thru the weir . Am I wrong? Will there be any slope factor for launder?

RE: Launder in clarifier

The launder channel is the circular channel which runs around the edge of a clarifier. Water flows into it over the weir, attached to its inner edge.

It may be constructed to fall to outlets, but is commonly flat-bottomed.
