Pipe flushing/blowing for pre-commissioning

(OP)
Hi

Could someone share their experience in pre-commissioning
activities of pipelines.  i.e, flushing medium selection for
pipes, velocity of medium, temporary fittings specification,
compressor/pump requirements, dropping instruments, how to
install air connections, blinding requirements etc.

Ommuruga,
You need to be more specific on the system to be commissionned. Different system have different requirement. Cryogenic system require moisture freeing. This is achived by purging the system with nitrogen until the dew point reading at the outlet points are the same as in the nitrogen supply. For steam system, the normal method is to do steam blowing. However, the blowing method depends on the criticality of the steam purpose, steam for turbine operation for example, require a more stringent cleaning compare to steam system for utility station.
