Impact Test Requirements To Austalian Standards

Impact Test Requirements To Austalian Standards

(OP)
Hi all, can anyone help determine the Impact testing requirements for the weld procedure for the following material and conditions as there is a difference of opinion between myself and the client inspector as to what is needed.
Vessel Class: AS1210 Class 1
Material: AS1548-7-460NL40 50mm Thick
Post Weld Heat Treated at 600°C for 2 Hours
Operating Temperature: -46°C to 100°C
I believe it should be 31joules @ -40°C however the client inspector believes it is 31joules @ -50°C
thanks

RE: Impact Test Requirements To Austalian Standards

without any knowledge of the impact test, if -50 deg.C is without cost implications-I suggest the inspector is closer to your optimum outcome.
