Import from SOLID WORKS

Import from SOLID WORKS

Import from SOLID WORKS

(OP)
Hi all,

I'm trying to get a solid model through to one of our suppliers that uses AutoCAD. I use Solid Works and can export in the following formats:
Parasolids
IGES
STEP
ACIS

I tried ACIS (*.sat) but he said he couldn't read it. I think he's using AC 2000. Is there a version of SAT that must be used?

Is there some other way to get this data through?

Thanks in advance

Hayden

RE: Import from SOLID WORKS

YES!!! Be sure you set the version of ACIS to 3 or earlier. You're just running into the issue of S.W. being able to write to a version newer than your particular version of ACAD is ready for. ACAD-2002 can use the most recent version, but 2000i and earlier need you to make that earlier choice. It's on the S.W. export dialog so you shouldn't have any trouble finding it.
Good luck-
CFee
