Does anyone know how to get autocad 2002 to pastespec as a block instead of automatically exploding it?
I have already redefined "Pasteclip" succesfully but the paste special still explodes automatically.

RE: Pastespec

Help me out. I use copy and paste in ACAD 2002 all the time. Sometimes I want the clip to come in as a block and sometimes not. I have no trouble dropping it as a block or as exploded to vectors. I use the right button menu item "paste as block" sometimes, and sometime just "paste" which results in vectors. I'm not aware of the setting for this altho I'm sure there is one somewhere (ACAD makes extensive use of control variables).

Just looking for a little clarification; hope this helps.

Good Luck-
CFee

PS- Any thoughts on UCS control? I haven't found the right combination to control the UCS at drop (^V Paste)of vectors I picked up (^c Copy) from other drawing soldraw viewports. Sometimes the detail comes in fine, sometimes I have to "align" the detail with the paperspace plane. Any thoughts?
Thanks-
CFee

RE: Pastespec

I can't comment on 2002 since i only use 2000; however have you tried using the wblock command which is a "block" drawing command with a filename that can be retrieved for any drawing by using the insert command.
UCS control is under tools pull down menu & new UCS; move  the UCS with origin and rotate UCS with either X ,Y, Z axis.
