(OP)
How can I tell if a surge arrester is staion class or intermediate class? Made by Ohio Brass type GP, series 3, rated 39kV, 34.5 inches tall, porcelain, 92 pounds.

RE: 39kV Surge Arrester

Sparkee, best advice is to contact Ohio Brass (now Hubbell Power Systems Inc.?). The web address is www.hubbellpowersystems.com.

They should be able to provide the technical advice you require.

RE: 39kV Surge Arrester

Ohio Brass model GP, GPA, and GPB are listed as Intermediate Class in their catalog 48B.
