HEAVY TIMBER TRUSS CONNECTIONS

HEAVY TIMBER TRUSS CONNECTIONS

HEAVY TIMBER TRUSS CONNECTIONS

(OP)
I AM DESIGNING A HEAVY TIMBER TRUSS AND I CAN'T FIND ANY BOOKS IN OUR LIBRARY THAT DEAL WITH STEEL PLATE CONNECTIONS.  DOES ANYONE KNOW A REFERENCE MATERIAL THAT SPECIFICALLY DEALS WITH THIS TYPE OF CONNECTION?
THE BOOKS I HAVE USE A STEEL PLATE CONNECTION WITH A SINGLE BOLT AT THE INTERSECTION OF CENTERLINES (MY LOADS ARE TOO HIGH FOR ONE BOLT).

RE: HEAVY TIMBER TRUSS CONNECTIONS

Check the Timber Construction Manual from AITC. They have good truss info. You will probably have to design heavy truss connection plates yourself (NOTE: these are not "truss plates" but steel side plates.) or use timber connectors, etc.
