Post Stress Cable In Slab - Where To Find
Post Stress Cable In Slab - Where To Find
(OP)
I'm a home owner in the Yukon, Canada. Trying to find anyone to point me at who has equipment to do post-stress cables in a slab. I live on unstable, shifting ground, and need a system to pour a slab that will stay together. I've called ALL our local cement contractors, and several in US. No-one knows what I'm talking about. I'm verey remote, but NEED the system. Even if it means buying the equipment to do it myself. Can anyone please let me know who does this sort of work, and espaecially, who makes the equipment/cables required to do it.
Thank-youin advance ... Gary

Any concrete slab requires a relatively stable foundation. If you have significant ground movement a PT slab may not perform any better than a conventionally reinforced slab. Depending on what you are building you might be better off supporting the slab on a deep foundation such as drilled piers.
