Help: Changing Task/Subtask Dates Automatically

Help: Changing Task/Subtask Dates Automatically

Help: Changing Task/Subtask Dates Automatically

(OP)
I have many tasks set in PRoject 2000, each with 5-8 subtasks.

Is there any way to simply DRAG AND DROP the main TASK to a different start date, so that the subtask dates move automatically...keeping their respective timefram assignments?

So far, I can only do this by manually changing or draging and dropping the dates for each individual subtask.

Thanks

RE: Help: Changing Task/Subtask Dates Automatically

It sounds like you're not using predessors.

If each subtask is linked to its predessor, moving the first task of a group will force all the other tasks to follow.

Predessors will work, as long as the subtasks are set to "as soon as possible" or something similar on the advanced tab.  Many of the other options will leave the subtask tied to a start or finish date.
