Using Wood Materials with Photoworks

Using Wood Materials with Photoworks

Does anyone know how to make wood grain run with the length of the part when rendered in Photoworks? Is there a setting that I am missing?

RE: Using Wood Materials with Photoworks

I haven’t found a way of changing the wood grain direction it seam to depend on the way the part is built

ManxJim,
Could you please tell me how you had to build your part in Solidworks so that the grain was in the direction that it should be? Thanks

RE: Using Wood Materials with Photoworks

To rotate the wood grain, you need to edit the material for that face.  Then go to the "Displacement" window in the dialog box.  Near the bottom is a "rotate" box, type in the angle of rotation and "Apply".  It works best I've found if you apply materials to a face as opposed to a whole body.  You get better control of the grain direction.
