SW2003 Performance Again !

SW2003 Performance Again !

SW2003 Performance Again !

(OP)
Sorry to bug you all with this again, but its getting on my nerves !

The performance of solidworks 2003 is so low compared to my 2001+ installation, Particularly in scetch and generally in graphics.

I am pretty sure it is related to Installation issues/videocard issues.

Someone has mentioned that anti virus software stops some dll files to get properly installed, is there any way to check if the right ones have been installed ?

My config:

Win 2000
Office2000
athlon 1200
Geforce 2 GTS Currently with Quadro hack
768 ram
raid 0

Solidworks:

Currently installed 2000, 2001+ and 2003 parallell.

What I have tried:  Reinstalling SW2003, with antivirus disabled, changing around videodrivers, tried almost every singel one on the market, Fooling around with the software opengl settings, Comparing settings in the registry with the 2001+ installation, tried to change them, but nothing got better or worse.

Please, anyone had any similar problems ?

Best regards Mindnumb, Oslo, Norway.

Additional info, it seems that the framerate in the window is kind of "locked" to a fixed value. when rotating even the smallest part, it "stutters", although at a steady rate

I have also tried and installed it again, but no change.

RE: SW2003 Performance Again !

are you running on a peer to peer network. The reason i ask is that sometimes the network stuff in the background can cause some problems. I saw this when we would shut down the hub for maintenance and my Dell 2.4 GH P4 512mb Ram and NVIDIA 64mb video card. I would get the same thing when rotating the model.

No peer to peer networking here, but ill look in to it and see if there is someting holding the system back on that front.

the system is otherwise wery responsive and fast, an until now I have not considered buying another system, bu  if things does not change....

Thanks for the tip, Ill Keep on trying.

RE: SW2003 Performance Again !

Try restarting your computer in VGA mode and see if things improve. If they do then your problem resides in your card.
