Help on setting up spring/damper mechanism for IDEAS-9

Help on setting up spring/damper mechanism for IDEAS-9

(OP)
Hello there,

I am trying to set up a spring/damper mechanism in ideas9 and would really appreciate help on:
a) where to get documents/training material/tutorials
b) advice on how to start

I have already gone through the online tutorial supplied by EDS but unfortunately, it does not show how to set up a spring/damper mechanism.

Thank you very much everyone!

RE: Help on setting up spring/damper mechanism for IDEAS-9

There are spring and damper elements to chose from in the create element form. These can be either to ground (restrained globally at one end and the other attached to your model at the node(s) of your choosing) or joined between two nodes in your model. You then go set the damping and spring values in the physical property tables. Or you can set the properties first! Should be all fairly simple...
