VAV IN OPERATING ROOM

VAV IN OPERATING ROOM

VAV IN OPERATING ROOM

(OP)
I NEED TO APPLY THE ENERGY CONSERVATION IN THE OPERATING ROOM, THEREFORE I DESIGN VAV SYSTEM IN THE DISOCCUPIED MODE, WITH VARIABLE FRECUENCY DRIVER IN THE AHU AND PRESSURE SENSOR IN ANY OPERATING ROOM, I NEED TO KNOW IF IT IS CORRECTLY, ANY PEOLE HAVE A ARTICLE OF ASHRAE WITH CORRECT PROCEDURE.

RE: VAV IN OPERATING ROOM

antony09 -

The idea looks good. The OR pressure sensor could monitor the room pressure and alarm if it becomes negative - I wouldn't recommend that you use that pressure sensor to control the AHU or any HVAC.

The pressure sensor that controls the AHU should be located in the supply duct, usually two-thirds down the duct run.

The unoccupied mode should place the supply and exhaust systems at a preset lower room supply/exhaust flow (not pressure).

RE: VAV IN OPERATING ROOM

Hi antony09!
The idea correct but is necessary to take into account the following:
Let's assume VAV system has reduced quantity of air through
AHU.(with the help of automatic reduction of revolutions of the fan).
Further we shall disassemble three cases:
1. AHU there is no coil of cooling. It is necessary to pay attention
to an electroheater, if he is. You see he is designed for the certain
 quantity of air.
2. AHU has the water coil of cooling. In this case decrease
of quantity of air results in decrease of target
temperature. In other rooms it becomes too cold. To overcome
this trouble it is possible having established the regulating valve on
water.
3. AHU has DX the coil of cooling. In this case
at decrease of a flow of air it is necessary to expect
abnormal job of the condenser block.
