Dimesions to an Excel File

(OP)
We create inspections reports in Excel that go out with each each job, the inspection reports contain the main dimensions that need checked along with the tolerance.  Anyone know of a way to pull the dimensions from a drawing file in SW2003 directly into an excel file?  Or any other way to accomplish the same thing?

RE: Dimesions to an Excel File

You can do this using the SolidWorks API (macro) to export the values directly to Excel. Outside of programming, I am not sure you can do this.

Are the dimensions named consistantly? For example, it is simple to grab a dimension if you know its name. If the name changes for each part it gets much trickier. Or, are you looking to pull all of the dimensions from a particular part?

If you can give me some more detail, I can halp get you started.
