Greetings all. First post here.

I was wondering if there was less expensive ways to interface lab windows to the real world. ie. DIY boards, or existing solutions that can be had/made/or modified cheaply to allow for control systems to be implemented w/o national instrument's specific (and rather expensive) hardware.

Mechatronics - Waterloo, Ontario.

RE: Labwindows hardware interfacing.

I know that Automation Direct makes an interface that emulates the National Instruments boards.  Bascially these turn their 305 PLC into a analog Devices board for Labview and others.  Not super cheap but much lower cost per point than the National Instruments or Analog Devices Solutions.

Good luck!
